The Contortionist one of the best progressive metal bands I have every heard. Hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana and currently consisting of Robby Baca on Guitar's, Joey Baca on Percussion , Mike Lessard on Vocal's and Keys, Cameron Maynard on Guitar's, Jordan Eberhardt on Bass Guitar, and Eric Guenther on Key's. And holy shit these guys are awesome. I saw them on tour with Periphery and Jesus The Contortionist can throw a fucking show.
Now to the Album. This album is packed wit the riffs wonder. It' like a Scifi Movie mixing with a Jazzy lounge, and some prog metal included. Just a chilling amazing step up. The vocals were phenomenal.
The bass is just amazing the Riffage is epic. Honestly one of my favorite albums this year so far.
The hit single is called "Language I: Intuition" This 5:46 song is amazing very Atmospheric and ambient. The Bass is great the vocals are brilliant. The mixture is very well thought out with a more hole in the wall Ambient Prog Rock feel than metal. However The guitar is obviously heavy and is very noticeable. The guitar work also just solos out.
The next song I want to cover "Language II: Conspire" Holy fuck just a bizarre tone right off of "Language I" and this song Is literally one of the reasons I love this band. The vocals are Heavier and more in depth with a heavier tone then the hit single.
This is the last song to hit off to. "Thrive" is a great example of the progressive Style every one talks about. Heavier yet softer Melodic yet grimy. a contradiction mixed into one Atmospheric Progressive Metal bands song. I also dig the Bass solo not every band lets the bassist have a solo.
